Association of Alumni Nominated Candidate for Executive Committee

Biography
Mark is COO of Vertex Distribution in Attleboro, MA. He holds an AB in engineering sciences and an MBA from Duke University. Prior to Vertex, he was a vice president of strategic planning at L.F. Rothschild, Unterberg, Towbin. Mark is also board president of the Dedham Country Day School. Mark has served his class as head agent and reunion giving chair. He is a member of the Tucker Foundation Board of Visitors and the Dartmouth College Fund Committee. He has been vice chair of the Dartmouth College Fund and a member of the Will to Excel Campaign Committee. He was a member of Bones Gate. In 1994 Mark was awarded the Young Alumni Distinguished Service Award. His father is Mel Alperin, Class of 1958 and his uncle is Barry Alperin Class of 1962.

Statement
I look forward to continuing the work of the current Executive Committee. I support the statement of John Mathias and the positions of the Unity Slate. President Kim, the faculty and the students need the support of the entire alumni community and its leadership as the College makes some difficult financial decisions.

The responsibility of the Dartmouth board of trustees is to maintain the preeminence of a Dartmouth undergraduate education. The trustees have selected a superb new leader in President Kim.  I look forward to supporting him and their efforts.

We, as alumni, should not support any candidates that believe a lawsuit is an effective tool to use against the College and President Kim.
