Biography
Retired and living in Hanover, I’ve been extensively involved with Dartmouth alumni activities, serving or having served as head agent, reunion giving chair, mini-reunion chair, and newsletter editor; secretary of the DCUV; alumni coordinator of the Athletic Sponsor Program; alumni advisor for Alpha Delta. Twice a member of the Alumni Council, I received the Dartmouth Alumni Award, and am an honorary inductee into the Wearers of the Green.

Statement
I’m running for reelection to continue the work we started with our election in 2008. Our dialogue with the Alumni Council, administration, and trustees has progressed as we attempt to address legitimate concerns regarding trustee election procedures, and find a way to ensure that the views of all alumni are receiving proper consideration by the leaders of Dartmouth College.

Of particular importance are our efforts to increase the number of alumni trustees. Ed Haldeman has been quite willing to engage the AoA Executive Committee on this subject, and we are making progress. The upcoming trustee elections are an important step in that process. I urge all alumni to vote, thereby demonstrating to the trustees that a significant percentage of our alumni are truly interested in the composition of the board of trustees.

During this time of difficult budget decisions, it is vital for all to unify behind the dynamic leadership of Jim Kim.  Nuisance lawsuits, which divide the alumni and drain important resources from the College, are not in our best interests and should be opposed by all loyal alums.
